Board Commits to Continue Supporting Youth Talent-Based Initiatives

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), through its Lower Eastern Regional Office, participated in the Isiolo Talent Search and Creative Workshop, held on Monday 30th January, 2024, at the Isiolo Youth Innovation Centre, Isiolo County.
The event, which brought together youths from Isiolo County and its environs, was geared towards identifying and nurturing diverse talents in the creative industry.
The KFCB's participation at the event, was in line with the Talanta Hela Initiative that is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Arts and Sports, as well as the Fifth Pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Empowerment Agenda (BETA) aimed at transforming the film sector into an industry that sustains decent livelihoods.
This was also aligned with KFCB’s Sinema Mashinani initiative that seeks to tap and promote talents among the youth for job and wealth creation, while championing for responsible creation and consumption of film and broadcast content.
The KFCB is committed to supporting initiatives geared towards identifying and nurturing talents among the youths in the Creative sector for job opportunities and wealth creation, through a facilitative regulatory environment that will spur the growth of the Creative Economy.
The Kenya Film Classification Board is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, mandated by the Films and Stage Play Act, Cap 222, of the Laws of Kenya to regulate film and broadcast content in Kenya.
