KFCB Meets Law Enforcers in Kirinyaga County 

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has lauded law enforcement agencies for their continued support in ensuring compliance with the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya. 

While speaking during an engagement forum with law enforcement officers drawn from Kirinyaga County and its environs, the KFCB’s Ag. Chief Manager, Corporate Services, Ms. Nelly Muluka, stated that law enforcement agencies are among KFCB’s key stakeholders, playing a critical role in the enforcement of Cap 222.

She further indicated that engagement with law enforcement agencies is pivotal for the realization of a structured and coordinated execution of enforcement activities of KFCB. 

“In executing its mandate, the KFCB works closely with other Government agencies to ensure its regulatory function across the entire film value chain is executed seamlessly and effectively,” she said during the forum, held on Tuesday 17th December 2024.

Speaking at the event, Deputy OCS, Sagana West, Mr. Munene Gwatia, thanked the KFCB for organizing the engagement forum, adding that the activity is well aligned with the Whole Government Approach to executing the enforcement mandate.

The engagement with law enforcement agencies in Kirinyaga County was part of the KFCB’s ongoing Stakeholders Engagement dubbed: Creatives in Arts and Film Literacy Forum (CAFIL).
