Meeting with META to Discuss Possible Collaboration in Board’s Programs

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), today, Friday 28th July 2023, held a meeting with representatives from META, led by Mr. Phil Oduor, Lead -Policy Programs Sub-Saharan Africa, and Ms. Sarah Muyonga, Public Policy Manager.
They discussed possible partnership in the Board's Parent's Digital Literacy Programme (PaDIL), among other initiatives.
The PADIL Programme, seeks to empower parents with skills on how to monitor and guide children on content access through various digital platforms, as well as enhance their awareness on emerging technologies.
Mr. Oduor lauded the PADIL programme, noting that it resonates well with META’s consumer awareness campaigns with META alluding to the fact that put in place community standards and guidelines, aimed at protecting consumers, especially children from exposure to inappropriate content.
The Board remains committed to working with public and private sector agencies on programmes aimed at empowering content consumers, as well as initiatives geared towards spurring the creative sector in line with the Government's Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
