Board Committed to Ensuring a Facilitative Film Regulatory Environment to Spur Industry Growth

The Kenya Film Classification Board, Chairperson, Hon. Njogu Njoroge HSC, on Thursday 15th August 2024, held a meeting with the KFCB Management to review the performance report for the FY 2023/2024 as well as deliberation on the Board’s Strategic Plan for the FY 2024/2025, among other emerging issues.
Mr. Njoroge emphasized the need for stakeholder collaboration in executing the KFCB's mandate and programs, noting that the KFCB will continue to align its programs and activities to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) under the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy Pillar, as well as the Talanta Hela Initiative.

“We must remain strategic in our approach to ensuring a facilitative film regulatory environment to spur the growth of the sector and more importantly, protect children and vulnerable adults from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content,” he said.
In collaboration with industry stakeholders, the KFCB through our Nairobi Film Centre (NFC), among other initiatives, is committed to contributing to the growth of the Film Industry by creating a platform and opportunities for local creatives to monetize their talents.
