Board Supports Kenya Music & Cultural Festival Gala 2021

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) participated and supported the 94th Edition of the Kenya Music and Cultural Festival (KM & CF), Winners Concert and Awards Gala held at the Mama Ngina Waterfront, Mombasa County on 10th December, 2021.

The Winner’s concert, organized by the Department of Culture under the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage in collaboration with KFCB and other key partners was a culmination of the Festival that involved community festivals at the National stage.

The Annual festival presents a diversity of cultural expressions in dance, music, poetry, drama and cultural exhibition, thus providing solutions to challenges facing our society through artistic expression.

KFCB's Corporate Communications Manager, Ms. Nelly Muluka, represented the Board at colourful event that was also graced by officials from the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage, and County Governments countrywide.

Themed: Celebrating the Resilience of Our People in Safeguarding the Health of Our Nation, this year's Festival brought together participants from across Kenya, including representation from Government Agencies, County Governments and private entities as well as local communities.

As part of the Board’s contribution to the success of festival, KFCB supported the event through provision of branded trophies for the winning categories (film and Performing Arts) among other forms of support.

The County Government of Trans-Nzoia bagged KFCB’s Clean Content Trophy. The Board leveraged on the event and sensitized participants on its mandate, programs and campaigns in line with the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya.

KFCB recognizes the Creative Arts as a vehicle for social change and its key role in promoting and safeguarding Kenya’s culture, moral values, national aspirations and socio-economic transformation. The Board is committed to supporting initiatives that are meant to empower and mentor local creatives, communities and the youths, within the law.

Music Festivals 3The Board remains open to working with local content creators, and other like-minded public and private sector agencies on programs aimed at promoting Kenya's Arts industry, especially where the Kenyan culture, and moral values as well as clean content are upheld.
