The Kenya Film Classification Board Management led by the Ag. CEO Mr. Christopher Wambua on Wednesday 15th February 2023, held a meeting with renowned musician Kennedy Ombima, famously known as King Kaka and his Manager, Dennis Njenga.

The musician was briefed on the Board's mandate, programs and campaigns, especially the Parents Digital Literacy Program (PaDiL) unveiled recently in partnership with Netflix, Google and Tik Tok. They also discussed King Kaka's 100 Schools Visit Program, targeting 55 high schools and 45 universities countrywide.

Themed: Inspiration and Nourishment, the program seeks to inspire students through his story and to sensitize them on the need to use the internet positively.

Mr. Wambua lauded King Kaka's program, noting that it resonates with the Board's PaDiL program that targets children and parents/caregivers.

"The PaDiL is geared towards empowering parents and caregivers with the requisite skills to guide children on safe and responsible use of digital platforms and creative spaces.
It also aims to create awareness on the effects of media content and emerging technologies on children.

"As a regulatory Board, we are committed to working with industry stakeholders on programs and initiatives meant to empower content creators as well as to protect children from exposure to inappropriate content," the Ag CEO said.

He reiterated the Board's desire to create a facilitative regulatory environment that is anchored on collaboration with industry stakeholders.

King Kaka commended the Board for engaging stakeholders in executing its mandate and programs.
