Board’s Ag. CEO Pays Courtesy Call to the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology VC

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Ag. CEO, Mr. Joel Wamalwa, accompanied by Director John Muigai Nyururu, today, 27th October 2023, paid a courtesy call to the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Ng'ang'a Muchiri. 


They discussed possible areas of collaboration, especially the Creatives in Arts and Film Creation Digital Literacy (Cafil) Program that the Board is rolling out across the country, among other issues. 


Mr. Wamalwa affirmed the Board's commitment to working with the University and other learning institutions on programs geared towards spurring the Creative Economy for job and wealth creation.

He said that the Cafil Program seeks to empower digital content creators to effectively utilize and monetize their artistic works on digital platforms as well as create awareness on the effects of media content and emerging technologies on vulnerable populations, especially children and vulnerable adults.


Prof. Muchiri lauded the Board for such initiatives, adding that talent and has the potential of creating jobs among the youth in our country. 


He further expressed his commitment to working with the Board in such initiatives to tap talents among the students for monetisation.
