CS Ababu Namwamba Launches The National Youth Week, 2023 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs, The Arts and Sports (MOYASA), Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH, on 7th August 2023, led the MOYASA and several agencies under its purview, among them; the Kenya Film Classification Board, in the launch of the National Youth Week (NYW) 2023, at an event, held at the University of Nairobi.

The launch featured dynamic exhibitions under the banner ‘Hustla’s Baazar’, an initiative aimed at empowering youths to showcase and market their talents. Other activities during the launch were informative participatory panel discussions and expert presentations.

While addressing the youths and other participants, CS Namwamba, reiterated the Government’s commitment to identifying nurturing, and monetizing young talents under the #TalantaHela Initiative. 

Themed: Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World,’ the National Youth Week runs from the 7th to 11th August 2023, and will culminate into the International Youth Day (IYD) celebrations to be held on the 12th August 2023.

Youth Affairs and the Arts PS, Ismail Maalim Madey, and his Sports counterpart, Eng. Peter K. Tum, OGW, were among the dignitaries, who graced the launch.

During the week-long event, the MOYASA will in collaboration with other partners showcase various activities, involving the youths, all aimed at encouraging youth participation in national development and decision-making.

The scheduled IYD activities under the #TalantaHela Initiative are aligned with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
