Government to Launch a National Talent Search Programme

The Principal Secretary, the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Mr. Ismail Maalim Madey, has announced that the Government will soon be launching a National Talent Search programme dubbed: ‘WhozNext.
PS Madey was speaking during the launch of National Youth Week at Jaramogi Odinga Odinga Show Ground, Kisumu County on Tuesday 6th August 2024. 
He further elaborated that the programme's goal is to identify Kenya's big name in music, dance, fashion, poetry, comedy, and content creation.
The PS added that the programme was deliberate and intentionally designed for those in the creative industry. 

NATIONAL YOUTH WEEK

Mr. Maalim stated that the National Talent Search programme was a product of Talanta Hela, adding that the incentives for winners will be enough to change their lives and that of their dependents.
At the same time, the PS advised the youth present who were drawn from different counties in Nyanza and Western regions to change their mindset, think big, use their talents and get out and show the world what they can offer if they want to develop themselves. 
He also reminded them that opportunities find those who are ready for them promising that the Government will continue to facilitate them through the Youth Fund, Ajira among others initiatives to actualize their ideas.

Kisumu County Commissioner, Mr.  Benson Leparmorijo, also graced the launch. The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Nyanza Regional office, led by the Regional Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Mbutu,  represented the Ag. CEO during the launch.
