Ezekiel Mutua Pledges KFCB’s Support for Dr Ida Odinga Library, Research & Innovation Centre

The Kenya Film Classification Board Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, has pledged the Board’s support for the proposed Dr. Ida Odinga Library, Research and Innovation Centre that is being established at Ogande Girls’ High School in Homa Bay County.

Speaking when he joined  other dignitaries at the groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed Centre on 21st December 2020, Dr. Mutua said that KFCB and the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) have partnered to support the establishment of the Dr. Ida Odinga Resource and Innovation Centre under the Sinema Mashinani and Studio Mashinani initiatives respectively.

“We congratulate Dr. Ida Odinga for initiating this project that is timely and key in empowering young people. Innovation and creativity is the future of education, we need to channel more resources to this sectors as we aim to empower our children,” the Board’s CEO said.

Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and Coordination of National Government, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, was the Chief Guest at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The proposed ultra-modern Research, Innovation and Resource project is driven by Mama Ida Odinga as her legacy project for youth empowerment and will be a centre of excellence in identifying and nurturing of youths talent across Kenya.

The State-of-the-art Research & Innovation Centre is envisaged to be a regional hub for performing Arts, Sinema Mashinani and creativity in general.
