Sensitization Forum for Makueni County Creatives

The Kenya Film Classification Board in collaboration with Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) conducted a sensitization forum for the Makueni County Creatives who included film producers, musicians, comedians, photographers, bloggers, online content creators, at Porini Inn, Makindu on 19th November, 2021.
 
The creatives were taken through filming and content classification requirements, standards of broadcast content, basic digital skills, intellectual property, copyright among other topics.

The objective of the sensitization was to empower the creatives with knowledge and basic skills to enable them not only reap from their talents and works but also create employment.

Ms. Emmah Irungu, from the Board’s Compliance Department made a presentation on the Board’s regulatory mandate as stipulated in the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya. 

The Board is committed to working with local creatives in a bid to promote the creative industry as well as ensure compliance to the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Ac cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya.
