KFCB Hosts International Youth Day 2026 Celebrations – Nairobi Edition

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), a State Corporation under the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, in collaboration with the Nairobi City County Government, hosted the Nairobi edition of International Youth Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives geared towards youth empowerment and sustainable development.

During the event, held at the Nairobi Film Centre (NFC) on Wednesday, 12th August 2026, the KFCB team sensitised participants on the Board’s regulatory mandate and highlighted interventions aimed at creating an enabling regulatory environment for creatives to harness and monetise their talents, create employment opportunities and build sustainable enterprises in line with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and other national development blueprints.

Themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the event brought together more than 500 young people and provided a platform for them to engage with Government and private-sector stakeholders on available opportunities and programmes tailored to the youth agenda.

The event, also attended by representatives from Government and the private sector, featured exhibitions, artistic performances and panel discussions focusing on mental health, the role of the creative economy in promoting development, and the importance of including young people in advancing sustainable development.
