KFCB Meets Cape Media Africa Officials over Compliance

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Management, led by the Corporate Communications, Ms. Nelly Muluka,  today, 3rd April 2024, held a fruitful consultative meeting with Cape Media Africa officials to deliberate matters compliance, especially on TV 47 broadcast. 

Mr. Macharia Wamugo, the Editorial Director Cape Media Africa and TV, accompanied by Ms. Diana Tarik, Head of Programming, were taken through the Board's regulatory mandate, and all the filming requirements in Kenya among other issues. 

The team also explored the self-classification framework, which the Board in consultation with stakeholders developed, and that will see broadcasters, Video-On-Demand (VOD) and Over-the-Top (OTT) service providers involved in the classification of their audio-visual content once implemented, as part of creating a facilitative regulatory environment for players in the space.

Ms. Muluka reaffirmed the Board's commitment to collaborate with industry stakeholders to create a facilitative environment to spur industry growth in line with the Fifth Pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and the Talanta Hela Initiative.
