KFCB Partners with Tunga Media Responsible Afrika to Advance Responsible Content Creation and Consumption

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), in partnership with Tunga Afrika, conducted a joint consumer awareness campaign for students at Mkwajuni Vocational Training Centre in Kilifi County, on the sidelines of the Kilifi Creek Festival.

The interactive session, held on Friday 30 October 2026, featured screenings of locally produced films classified and approved by the Board for public exhibition. During the forum, KFCB officers highlighted the Board’s regulatory mandate, emphasising the importance of responsible audiovisual content creation and consumption.

The team also outlined the Board’s consumer advisory role through initiatives such as the Parents Digital Literacy (PaDiL) Programme, which equips parents, guardians and caregivers with the knowledge and skills to guide children in the safe and responsible use of digital platforms, monitor their online and offline activities and protect them from exposure to age-inappropriate content.

This is particularly important during the long school holidays, when learners spend more time at home and may have increased access to digital platforms and audiovisual content.

The officers reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to promoting child online safety through content classification and related interventions implemented in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
