KFCB Pays Courtesy Call on the National Assembly’s Finance Committee Chair

The Kenya Film Classification Board, Chairperson, Njogu Wa Njoroge HSC, accompanied by KFCB's Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Paskal Opiyo, on Thursday 19th September 2024, paid a courtesy call on the National Assembly’s Finance Committee, Chairman, Hon. Kuria Kimani.

They briefed Hon. Kuria about the Regulators' Handbook, a tool recently developed by KFCB in close consulting with other relevant regulatory Government agencies whose mandates impact the film industry. The Handbook is simplified to consolidate all regulatory and copyright information for film practitioners in Kenya.

They further briefed the Finance Committee Chair about the ongoing Creatives in Arts and Film Literacy Program (CAFIL) that the KFCB is rolling out in partnership with the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund (SASDF).

In the execution of its mandate, the Board works closely with other agencies such as the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Directorate of Immigration Services, Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, and Kenya Revenue Authority, among others to ensure its regulatory function across the entire film value chain is executed seamlessly and effectively.

The Whole of Government Approach to service delivery emphasizes the need to create synergies among Government agencies to deliver seamless services to the citizenry.
