As part of its ongoing stakeholder engagement under the Creatives in Arts and Film Literacy Programme (CAFIL), the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) engaged representatives from law enforcement agencies in Machakos County and its environs on Saturday, 14th December 2024.
The engagement aimed at creating awareness among law enforcers about the KFCB's mandate in a bid to ensure a structured and coordinated execution of enforcement activities by KFCB officers in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

While speaking at the forum held at the Machakos Youth Centre, Machakos County Deputy Police Commander, Ms. Charity Karimi, lauded the KFCB for recognizing law enforcement agencies and pledged to continue supporting the Board in ensuring compliance with Cap 222.

"We commend the KFCB for organizing this forum and taking time to sensitize law enforcers in Machakos about the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya, and how we can work together to protect children from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content."

Ms Karimi emphasized that protecting children from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content is the responsibility of every citizen.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Marcos Masiga, KFCB’s Ag Manager, Technical Department, thanked the law enforcers for honoring the Board's invitation to the stakeholder’s engagement forum.
