Protect Children from Inappropriate Content During School Holidays

Schools are closed for the April holidays and children will be home for the next three weeks. In line with our consumer advisory role, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) appeals to parents, guardians, and caregivers to keenly monitor the audio-visual content that children are watching on TV, online, or other broadcast channels and guide them appropriately.

The KFCB also urges content creators to be mindful of the content that they post on various platforms that are likely to be accessed by children and minors

The KFCB is a State agency mandated to regulate film and broadcast content to ensure that audio-visual content, meant for exhibition or distribution in public spaces, conforms to Kenya's culture, National values, and aspirations.

Regulation is also meant to ensure that children are protected from exposure to inappropriate content, which is in essence collective responsibility.
