PS Ismail Maalim Meets the KFCB Board and Management

The Principal Secretary (PS), State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Mr. Ismail Maalim Madey, today Wednesday 24th January 2024, held a meeting with the Board of Directors and the Management of the Kenya Film Classification Board, led by the Chairperson, Hon. John Njogu Njoroge, HSC.
The meeting discussed the Board’s Performance Contract (PC) semi-annual status report for the FY 2023/2024 and other emerging issues.

The PS advised the Board to continue aligning its programs and activities to the Government’s PLAN and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) under the 5th Pillar, and not to relent on ensuring that children are protected from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content, as well as endeavouring to create a facilitative regulatory environment.
The Board in collaboration with relevant stakeholders is committed to contributing towards the growth of the Creative industry even as it regulates content.
