Public Service Commission Evaluates KFCB’s Performance for FY 2024/2025
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) underwent a performance evaluation appraisal for the 21st Cycle, covering the Financial Year 2024/2025, on Friday, 31st October 2025.
The exercise, supervised by representatives of the Public Service Performance Management Unit (PSPMU), aimed to assess the Board’s achievements against the committed and vetted Performance Contract (PC) targets for the period under review. Performance contracting remains a key accountability tool in the public sector.

While leading management in the exercise, the Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Ms Nelly Muluka, highlighted the importance of the performance evaluation exercise, emphasising that it plays a critical role in informing government planning and decision-making processes aimed at enhancing service delivery and promoting sustainable development.
She reaffirmed KFCB’s commitment to improving efficiency, accountability, and performance while fostering a facilitative regulatory environment that supports the growth of Kenya’s film industry.

KFCB is a State Agency under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, mandated by the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222, to regulate film and broadcast content in the country. The key objective of regulation is to protect children and vulnerable adults from exposure to harmful content.
