KFCB MEETING WITH THE GLOBAL PEACE FOUNDATION

The Kenya Film Classification Board has today held discussions with theGlobal Peace Foundation , paving the way to the establishment of a model of collaboration between the two organizations geared towards promoting values in education.The Global Peace Foundation is an international agency that identifies universally-recognized principles and shared values as essential to building social cohesion within nations and the global community.Speaking when he met GPF representatives at KFCB’s headquarters in Nairobi,KFCB Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ezekiel Mutua said the two organisations will set about exploring areas of cooperation and partnership, adding that the partnership will be timely as it comes at a time the country’s education system is undergoing reform.On his part, Global Peace Foundation International Vice President(Education Division) Mr. Tony Devine said GPF was looking forward to working with KFCB, saying by working together would enable the two organisations to achieve more.Already, the two organisations have identified some of the areas of partnership. This will include using film for narrative change by dissemination positive messages, and creating avenues of encouraging positive use of technology.In the proposed partnership, KFCB and GPF will work closely to ensure more emphasis on values in education, particularly among impressionable children and youth.
