KFCB Meeting with Stakeholders at The Deputy Presidents Office

KFCB MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS AT THE DEPUTY PRESIDENTS OFFICE

The Board was today pleased to meet stakeholders drawn from the creative industry during a meeting with Dr. Korir Sing’oei, who is the Legal Advisor and Head of Policy at the Office of the Deputy President. The meeting discussed various issues that can be addressed to increase the pace of growth and development in the film industry, among them the lack of a unified channel of advancing the collective interests of the industry. The film industry has a huge potential of contributing to the national GDP, promising more employment opportunities and attracting more investment in line with the Government’s development vision.Besides, the industry has the potential of creating effective platforms from which to tell the Kenyan story to the world through film.In executing our regulatory functions, KFCB will continue working closely with all industry stakeholders to establish consensus on the best way forward in the interest of the industry.KFCB is committed to ensuring that the players in the film industry are supported and not frustrated as they strive to put Kenya on the map and tell the Kenyan story as it should be told.
