Preparations for the National Youth Week and International Youth Day 2025

Earlier, today, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), hosted a film crew from the Department Film Services (DFS) for an interview with the Ag. CEO, CPA Paskal  Opiyo, which will form part of a video promo for the upcoming National Youth Week  (NYW) and the International Youth Day (IYD, 2025.
Themed: Local Youth Actions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Beyond, this year's IYD, seeks to highlight the unique role of youths in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities.

During the interview, the Ag. CEO highlighted KFCB’s youth-oriented initiatives which align with this year’s IYD theme, particularly, the SDG Goal No. 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.
The initiatives include: the proposed Self-regulation of VoD content, the Re-definition of the Role of Film Agents in Kenya, implementation of Sinema Mashinani Project, with focus on the cine-mobile truck and the roll-out of the Creatives in Arts and Film Literacy (CAFiL) Programme.
