KFCB Applauds Law Enforcement Agencies for Their Support in Enforcing Compliance to Cap 222

The Kenya Film Classification Board applauded various law enforcement agencies for their key support in enforcing the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya.

Speaking during a stakeholder’s engagement forum with the law enforcers drawn from Kisumu County and its environs, at the Regional Police Training College in Kisumu County, on 17th September 2024, Ms. Nelly Muluka, KFCB’s Ag. Chief Manager, Corporate Services, said the objective of the engagement was to create awareness on the KFCB’s mandate, among police officers, and other law enforcers, aimed at ensuring a more structured and coordinated execution of enforcement activities by the Board.

“KFCB will continue to work closely with the National Police Service to enhance compliance to spur the growth of the creative economy,” Ms. Muluka said.

The officers drawn from the National Police Service (NPS) and Administration Police Service (APS), led by Chief Inspector Ms. Lilian Ang'iro, were further sensitized on other issues related to KFCB’s regulatory mandate and law enforcement.

Inspector Ang'iro thanked the KFCB for conducting the engagement forum, stating that it was timely and relevant.

“We are glad that the KFCB saw it fit to educate our officers on the role of the Board and as NPS we look forward to enhanced collaboration with KFCB on matters of law enforcement and compliance regarding Cap 222,” she said.
