KFCB Awards Thika Road Matatu Crew for Promoting Clean Content

‘Checkmate – Expresso Sacco’, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operating on Thika Road is the 3rd winner of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) #FomuNiSafi campaign that rewards matatu driver and conductor who play clean content in their vehicle.
The vehicle’s driver and conductor bagged the Ksh. 10,000 award that was presented to them on Friday 22nd May, 2020 at the TRM bus stage, near the Kasarani roundabout.
The vehicle, Registration No. KCJ 912A bagged the cash award after meeting the criteria set by the Board among them being compliant to the licensing requirement of obtaining an exhibitor’s license worth Ksh.2,000 annually, playing clean content and observing the COVID-19 regulations as guided by the Ministry of Health.
KFCB Corporate Communications Manager, Ms. Nelly Muluka, presided over the awarding ceremony, accompanied and supported by the Board’s Nairobi Regional Manager, Mr. Justin Ombati.
The Association of Matatu Operators (AMO), Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Beth Mbuitu, accompanied by Mr Jimal Ibrahim Hassan Chairman, AMO was present.
The AMO officials donated a box of ‘Not for Sale’ hand sanitizers to the winning matatu crew. The #FomuNiSafi PSV campaign moves to Waiyaki Way next week
