KFCB CEO Commissions The Njoki Karuoya Creative And Media Centre

The Kenya Film Classification Board Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua was the Chief Guest during the commissioning of the Njoki Karuoya Creative and Media Center (NK Centre), in Elementaita, Nakuru County on Sunday 20th June, 2021.
Speaking during the launch, the CEO said that KFCB will partner with NK Centre which is in line with our Sinema Mashinani Initiative in its mission to spearhead the growth of Kenya’s Creative Economy.
“The NK Centre expresses the story of Kenya's stories through creative expressions, we can tell our authentic ideas and stories as African through creativity and Art,” Dr. Mutua stated.
The Board’s CEO urged artistes to demystify the negative narratives that have been told by the foreign media and sell Africa as a great place through Art.
The Centre is envisaged to host monthly film screenings as well as to create a platform for creatives to network with the aim of promoting Kenya's filming industry as a key enabler for job and wealth creation.
The Board is keen on supporting initiatives that are tailored towards creating job opportunities for the youth and ventures aimed at cushioning our creative industry that has been adversely affected by the pandemic.
