In a bid to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change and in line with the Government directive, officers from the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), on 10th May 2024, joined police officers, local leaders and residents of Nachu in a Tree Planting exercise, at the Getune Police Station vast land, Kikuyu constituency, Kiambu County.

Kikuyu Sub-County Deputy Commissioner (DCC), Mr Charles Laboso, in the company of Senator Karungo Wa Thang'wa, OCPD Mr. Ronald Kirui, among other leaders, led the Tree Planting exercise that saw the planting of more than 2,000 tree seedlings.

The seedlings donated by KFCB in partnership with the Kikuyu Sub County law enforcers was part of the Board's contribution towards the National Tree Growing and Restoration Campaign to grow 15 billion trees by 2032.

While addressing participants during the tree planting exercise, Senator Thang'wa applauded KFCB for the contribution of the seedlings and our film regulatory role that ensures that children are protected from exposure to inappropriate content.
