KFCB Hosts Blue Sky Africa Executive Producer for Key Consultative Meeting
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) management today hosted Mr. Jim Shamoon, an Executive Producer at Blue Sky Africa, for a consultative meeting during his courtesy call on the Board.
During the meeting, the KFCB Ag. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Nelly Muluka, highlighted the Board’s regulatory mandate, commending Blue Sky Africa for its continued collaboration and compliance with the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222, as well as its contribution to Kenya's creative industry.
The Ag. CEO further affirmed the Board’s commitment to working with stakeholders in the creative sector and other regulatory agencies to create a facilitative environment that supports industry growth in line with the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA) and the Whole-of-Government Approach (WOGA).
On his part, Mr. Shamoon applauded KFCB for its efficiency and timely turnaround in service delivery, noting that this has eased the way of doing business for the creative industry.
He further pointed out areas where strengthened compliance could enhance sector standards, adding that the Board’s role is critical in streamlining the industry.
KFCB is a State agency under the State Department for Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy, mandated by the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222, to regulate film and broadcast content in the country.
The key objective of this regulation is to protect children and vulnerable adults from exposure to harmful audio-visual content.
