KFCB Hosts Kikwetu Productions Company Limited MD for a Courtesy Call
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) management, led by the Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Ms Nelly Muluka, today, Monday, May 11, 2026, hosted Mr Kang’ethe Mungai, Managing Director of Kikwetu Productions Company Limited, when he paid a courtesy call on the Board.
The discussions centred on matters of compliance and potential collaboration in the production of the Filamu Kenya documentary, an initiative that seeks to chronicle Kenya’s film history and creative evolution by highlighting key milestones, institutions, and individuals who have contributed to the growth of the country’s film industry.

Ms Muluka commended the company for its continued compliance with the Films and Stage Plays Act, noting that adherence to regulatory requirements is key to content monetisation and distribution.
While acknowledging KFCB’s efforts in creating a more facilitative environment for creatives, Mr Mungai applauded the Board for redefining the role of film agents, a move that has simplified the application process and improved access to filming licences, which were previously expensive and cumbersome.

KFCB is a State agency under the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, mandated by the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap. 222, to regulate film and broadcast content in Kenya. Its primary objective is to protect children and vulnerable audiences from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content.
