KFCB Meets Safaricom Officials Over Self-Regulatory Framework

KFCB Meets Safaricom Officials

The Kenya Film Classification Board Ag. CEO Mr Christopher Wambua on 15th March 2023, held a consultative meeting with representatives from Safaricom PLC to deliberate upon self-regulation, among other issues.

In consultation with stakeholders, the KFCB has developed a self-regulation framework that will see broadcasters and commercial online streaming service providers involved in the examination and classification of audio-visual content.

KFCB is the State regulatory agency mandated to regulate film and broadcast content with the aim of protecting children from exposure to inappropriate content, as well as to ensure that all content exhibited to the public in Kenya conforms to Kenya's culture, moral values and national aspirations.
