KFCB Takes Film & Media Literacy to Nyeri, Empowers Creatives and Content Consumers

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), in line with its consumer advisory function and commitment to stakeholder engagement, engaged creatives and consumers of audiovisual content during the Nyeri Guide and Scout City Activation and Tourism Day at Kamukunji Grounds, sensitizing them on responsible content creation and consumption while highlighting regulatory interventions to strengthen the industry.

Beyond public awareness, the KFCB is implementing interventions that simplify regulatory processes, build industry capacity, and expand access to content and opportunities, including the Self-Classification Model, digital licensing through the Technical Management System (TMS) and eCitizen, the redefined role of Film Agents, and the Nairobi Film Centre, as well as the Cine-Mobile Unit, all aimed at supporting the growth and development of the audiovisual industry.

The KFCB team also hosted H.E. Kang Hyung-shik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya, and H.E. Dr. Mutahi Kahiga, Governor, County Government of Nyeri, who visited the Board’s exhibition booth, underscoring KFCB’s commitment to working with stakeholders to create a facilitative regulatory environment that supports a vibrant audiovisual sector.
