KFCB Unveils Central Region Clean Content Ambassadors

The Kenya Film Classification Board has unveiled four Clean Content Ambassadors from Central Region to spearhead the Board's clarion call for creation and consumption of clean content as well as create awareness on KFCB's programs and campaigns under Sinema Mashinani initiative.

The Board’s CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, presided over the coronation ceremony graced by Central Region Commissioner Mr. Wilfred Nyangwanga, held on 24th June 2021 at the White Rhino Hotel, Nyeri County.
The four ambassadors are: Mr. Lyford Kibaara, Nyeri County Commissioner, former First Lady, Nyeri County and Executive Director of Amani Foundation, Ms. Margaret Gachagua, Rev. Peterson Ndegwa of the Caritas Peace and Justice Program - Archdiocese of Nyeri, and Grassroots Women Association Chair, Faith Muthoni.
Speaking during the coronation ceremony, the CEO said that KFCB’s longstanding partnership with Nyeri County leaders shall continue to work with county leaders to champion for clean content campaigns in Central Region.

“We need to speak against dirty content in one voice. We have a collective responsibility to protect children from exposure to harmful content,” the CEO said.

Dr. Mutua urged the media to play its role as the watchdog of society and safeguard Kenya's moral values, noting that film and media content influence behavior and the thinking of consumers, especially children who are most impressionable.
