The Kenya Film Classification Board, a State agency under the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, has urged students to create and consume audio-visual content responsibly and to use digital platforms to promote positive values, creativity, and personal growth.

Speaking during the 2026 edition of the Loreto Convent Msongari Film and Drama Festival (MsoFide), KFCB Compliance Officer, Mr. Kimani Ndoria, said responsible media consumption is essential to safeguarding children's well-being. He also underscored the critical role of parents, caregivers, and guardians in protecting children from exposure to inappropriate audio-visual content.

During the event, KFCB further reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young creative talent by issuing gratis filming licences and waiving film classification fees for eligible student productions, in line with the law. This support enables students participating in festivals such as MsoFide to produce and showcase their creative works while complying with film regulatory requirements.

MsoFide is an annual student-led film and performing arts festival that provides a platform for learners to showcase their creativity, innovation, and talent through film production and stage performances.
