𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬: 𝐊𝐅𝐂𝐁 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐔𝐩 𝐍𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), in collaboration with the World Scout Parliamentary Union Kenya and the County Government of Nyeri, brought cinema closer to the people through film screenings at Kabiriuni Showground on Friday, 25 September 2026, as part of the Nyeri Guide and Scout City Activation and Tourism Day celebrations. The screenings, powered by the KFCB’s state-of-the-art Cine-Mobile Unit, transformed the showground into an open-air cinema, giving audiences an opportunity to experience film and culture under the night sky.

The Board screened Baden-Powell, a film celebrating the life and legacy of Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scout Movement, alongside Mvera, a locally produced film by AR Films Production, showcasing the richness of local content and allowing attendees to enjoy the cinema culture while experiencing the vibrancy of Nyeri’s cultural and tourism heritage.

The KFCB, a State agency mandated to regulate the audiovisual industry, continues to leverage its Cine-Mobile Unit to enhance film literacy and consumer safety, showcase local films, and expand access to Kenyan content across communities.
