Reviving Kenya’s Cinema-going Culture through NFC and Sinema Mashinani

In a bid to support the local Creative industry, the Kenya Film Classification Board
acquired the Nairobi Film Centre (NFC), formerly Nairobi Cinema, a facility that provides
space for Creatives to showcase their art.
The 850-seater facility, located along the Aga-Khan Walk within the Nairobi CBD, is ideal
for events such as; film screenings, stage plays, music concerts, comedy shows,
podcasts, poetry, modeling pageantry, conferences, among others.
The NFC, is part of the KFCB's Sinema Mashinani Initiative that seeks to take film to the
counties, create job opportunities and wealth creation, as well as revive the once vibrant
cinema-going culture, among Kenyans, including Sinema Mashinani.
