The 96th Edition of Kenya Music Cultural Festival Kicks off in Makueni County: KFCB among the Key Partners

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) is participating in the 96th Edition of the Kenya Music Cultural Festival (KMCF), taking place at the Wote Technical Training Institute, Makueni County.

The Board is leveraging on the KMCF platform to create awareness on its mandate and programs among participants in line with the Board's consumer advisory role. 

The festival aligns with KFCB's mandate in the area of promoting Kenya's culture, National values, and aspirations.

Principal Secretary (PS), State Department for Culture, the Arts and Heritage, Ms. Ummi Bashir in the company of Makueni County Governor, Hon. Mutula Kilonzo Junior, and other dignitaries, presided over the official opening of the festival on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

The annual fete that ends on 9th December 2023, comprises community festivals at the National level and presents a diversity of cultural expressions in dance, music, film poetry, drama, and cultural exhibition, thus providing solutions to challenges facing society through artistic expression.

Themed: Our Culture: Towards National Cohesion, Integration, and Peace,' this year's festival has brought together participants from the County Governments, technical institutions, Government agencies, and community groups.
