Board Affirms Commitment to Supporting Local Creative Industry Growth

The Kenya Film Classification Board has affirmed its commitment to creating a facilitative regulatory environment to spur the growth of the Creative Economy.
While addressing participants during a graduation ceremony organized by Canon and Zebra Productions for photography students in Nderi, Kiambu, County, the Board's Corporate Communications Manager, Ms. Nelly Muluka, said that KFCB will continue to collaborate with industry stakeholders to grow the industry.

She applauded Canon and Zebra Productions for their commitment to empowering and nurturing youth talents through their training and mentorship program dubbed: Miraisha.
Ms. Muluka urged upcoming and established content creators to use their art to shape narratives, challenge perceptions, and influence opinions.
Fifteen (15) local youths graduated after undergoing a three-month training and mentorship program courtesy of Canon and Zebra Productions.

Other guests and speakers at the graduation ceremony, held on Friday 17th November 2023, were representatives from the Kenya Film Commission (KFC), Multi-Choice Kenya, Kenya Film School (KFS), Kenya Writers Guild and The Kenya Film and Television Professionals Association (KFTPA).
