Board Grace’s Inaugural  Film Screening for Persons with Hearing Impairment 

The Kenya Film Classification Board on Friday 25th August 2023 graced the inaugural special screening of the film Creed III for persons with hearing impairment, held at the Anga Diamond Cinema, Parklands.

The first-of-its-kind screening supported by various partners among them KFCB, aimed at promoting inclusivity in film screenings, especially the use of open captions tailored for persons with hearing impairment and other special needs.

Ms. Nelly Muluka Oluoch, KFCB's Corporate Communications Manager, represented the Board at the event and applauded Anga Cinemas and partners for organizing the special screening.

She noted that the inclusion of people who are abled differently in the film industry is a game changer and will provide a platform for them to freely showcase their talent and participate in activities within the wider Creative Economy.

Ms. Muluka affirmed KFCB's commitment to involve people who are abled differently in its programs and campaigns.


She urged content creators to provide open captions for persons with hearing impairment and sign language interpretation, among other interventions that will enhance inclusivity and access to information for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

KFCB remains committed to supporting initiatives that are meant to empower and mentor local creatives, the youths as well as PWDs, alongside executing our regulatory mandate.

The Board examined and classified Creed III as 16 (Suitable for persons aged 16 years and above).
