Board’s Meeting with Kenya National Innovation Agency Officials

The Kenya Film Classification Board, on 19 th July 2023, hosted Dr. Tony Omwansa, CEO, Kenya National Innovation Agency, when he paid a courtesy call on the Board's Ag. CEO, Mr.Joel Wamalwa.

The two agencies discussed areas of mutual interest, particularly the upcoming Kenya Innovation Week (KIW), scheduled for November 2023.

The Kenya Innovation Week is an annual event that brings together local and global stakeholders to celebrate the innovative spirit of Kenyans and showcase practical skills that lead to innovations with a positive impact on society.

Themed: Innovating to create our Commonwealth, the event will bring together speakers from the Government, Global development leaders, top business executives, start-ups and innovators,funders and investors, academia and researchers, and representatives from the Commonwealth countries.

The Board is keen to work with like-minded organizations from the public and private sectors to realize its mandate of protecting children from exposure to harmful audio-visual content.

The Board will leverage on the KIW 2023, to sensitize innovators in the creative space on the need for creating as well as consuming clean content, among other issues.
