KFCB and Royal Media Services Explore Ways to Empower Media Consumers
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) on 2nd March 2026, hosted representatives from Royal Media Services (RMS) for discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration in regulatory compliance and enhancing consumer awareness.
The engagement, chaired by our Ag. CEO Ms. Nelly Muluka, placed particular emphasis on safeguarding audiences, especially children, by ensuring alignment with content classification guidelines and increasing public sensitisation on age-appropriate viewing.
The Board reaffirms its commitment to working closely with RMS and other broadcasters to promote responsible broadcasting practices, strengthen consumer protection mechanisms, and intensify nationwide awareness initiatives that empower the public to make informed viewing choices in line with our mandate.
KFCB is a State agency under the State Department for Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy, mandated by the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap.222, to regulate film and broadcast content in the country. The key objective of this regulation is to protect children and vulnerable adults from exposure to harmful audio-visual content.
