KFCB calls on parents to monitor the content consumed by children during the holidays

The Kenya Film Classification Board has urged parents to monitor the content their children are watching as schools close for the December holidays.

Addressing teachers, parents and pupils during the Kayole One Film Day, the Board’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ezekiel Mutua said exposing children to unsuitable content could affect their lives negatively.

Dr. Mutua encouraged parents to support children endowed with creative talents even as they pursue education, saying the future of the country is in young people.

“Opportunities for development lie in talent. The Board is committed to nurture talent among the youth to enable them to earn a living from their talents”, said Dr. Mutua.

The CEO was speaking this morning when he presided over Kayole One Primary School Media Club Show. He encouraged children to embrace education, identify and nurture talent, and uphold discipline in order to succeed in life.
