KFCB Delegation in France Holds Successful Meeting on Co-Production

KFCB DELEGATION IN FRANCE HOLDS SUCCESSFUL MEETING ON CO-PRODUCTION

Kenyan film makers will have opportunities to work with experienced French filmmakers in joint film productions following discussions between a KFCB delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ezekiel Mutua in France.

The team met Mr. Julien Enzano of Centre National du Cinema ((CNC), one of the world’s top film development support institutions that provides funds to independent film producers across the world.

The meeting explored possibilities of co-productions and training of film makers and broadcasters in Kenya, paving the way for a major conference to be held in Nairobi later in the year to further the discussions.

The forum also provided a great opportunity to benchmark with the French film industry, which enjoys a robust cinema viewing culture. In 2016, more than 213 million tickets were sold in cinema theatres across the country.

Like KFCB, CNC’so main objective is to promote cultural diversity in line with the UNESCO convention which has also been ratified by Kenya.

The Board is keen to work with the organisation to support the growth of film industry in Kenya.
