KFCB Is the Official Title Sponsor of The 2019 National Drama Festivals

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) today signed an MOU with the Kenya National Drama Festival (KNDF) Committee making the Board the Title Sponsor of 2019 Edition of the festival.
Signing the agreement with KNDF Chairman Prof C.J Odhiambo, KFCB CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua stated that the Board will support KNDF with KShs10.8M and other forms of kind sponsorship, bringing the total contribution of the Board to over KShs 20M.
“The mandate of the Kenya Film Classification Board is derived from the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the laws of Kenya that has two main limbs, film and stage plays. Both elements of our mandate are critical in setting the agenda for society by inculcating positive social values in the lives of our young people,” said Dr. Mutua.
The sponsorship will go into the various aspects of organizing the event right from the school level to the final presentation in State House including developing the guidebook, and training the script-writers and adjudicators. KFCB shall also mobilize other sponsors to take up items in cash or kind to make the festival a resounding success.
Also present in the meeting were the KFCB Ag. Chair Gathoni Kung’u, Ministry of Education officials, and stakeholders in the film industry.
