KFCB to Roll-Out the Second Phase of PSV Clean Content Awards
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) is scheduled to roll-out the second phase of the #FormNiSafi Public Service Vehicles Clean Content Awards, 2022.
This was said by the KFCB’s Corporate Communications Manager, Ms. Nelly Muluka, during a consultative meeting between the Board and PSVs Saccos representatives, led by their CEO, Ms. Beth Mbuitu.
The PSV Awards campaigns aim at enhancing compliance within the Matatu industry, especially PSVs exhibiting content in their vehicles.
The KFCB PSV initiative is also geared towards appreciating Saccos as well as drivers and conductors who play clean content and are compliant with the Board's content exhibition requirements.
The PSV compliance entails obtaining an exhibitor's license worth Ksh 2,000 annually as well as playing clean content.
The Board is mandated by the Films and Stage Plays Act, Cap 222 of the Laws of Kenya to regulate film and broadcast content so as to ensure that content conforms to Kenya’s culture, and national values as well as to protect children from exposure to inappropriate content.
