Sensitization Exercise In Kisumu County.

The KFCB Media Literacy team has conducted a public sensitization exercise on safe consumption of media content and responsible use of social media at the Jesus Celebration Centre (JCC) in Kisumu County.

During the event, the Boad’s CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua raised concern about rising misuse of social media to spread hate speech, and urged the public to be careful about the content they consume online.

The countrywide Media Literacy Program seeks to empower children, parents and the public in general to understand the dangers of harmful content.

Dr. Mutua also encouraged parents to monitor the content consumed by children, noting that exposure of children to harmful content can impact negatively on their morals and character.

Comedy pair Mchungaji and Mtumishi, Gospel artistes Sammy Ondimu Ngare and Man-Ingwe were among the content safety champions who took part in the exercise.
