KFCB's Participation at the Momentus Launch of 'Tuwalinde Watoto' Song

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, was the Chief Guest during the official launch of 'Tuwalinde Watoto' song that took place at the ACK All Saints Chesegem Parish, Uasin Gishu County on Sunday 18th July 2021.

Composed and produced by Mr. Kiptoo Rop, a Gospel music producer, the song 'Tuwalinde Watoto', seeks to sensitize parents, caregivers and the general public on the importance of protecting children from exposure to harmful content.

Speaking during the pompous event that was also graced by RT. Rev. Dr. Bishop Christopher Ruto, the CEO reiterated the Board's commitment to support artistes who adhere to the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 and are keen on promoting values.

"As has been evidenced today, the Board remains committed to supporting artistes who are keen on creating content that conforms to Kenya's culture, moral values and national aspirations", Dr. Mutua said.

While lauding the efforts by the Board in the campaign for clean content, Dr. Ruto assured the Board the unwavering support of religious institutions in the quest to achieve sobriety within the society.

"We must aim to build a nation that respects its values and morals, our prayer therefore as a church is that we shall have a country that is founded on moral values. To achieve this, we commit to fully support KFCB in the noble course they have undertaken", Dr. Ruto said.

The song 'Tuwalinde Watoto' rhymes with KFCB's mandate and as such finds a perfect nexus with the clarion call of protecting children from exposure to inappropriate film and broadcast content thus boosting our campaign for the creation and consumption of clean content under our Media Literacy Program dubbed: You Are What You Consume
