Deetz family returns home after Astrid's grandfather dies. When Astrid is tricked by a criminal who is struggling to fully return to the living after death, she ends up in the afterlife and Lydia is forced to go after her to ensure she comes back. Lydia is forced to seek the help of Beetlejuice, an act that triggers another of his ghost ex fiancé to also come back from the dead with the intention to reunite with Beetlejuice at all costs.
